Grand Soleil 72 Performance sailboat

Grand Soleil 72 Performance sailboat

By Cantiere del Pardo, the GS 72 will be the best Grand Soleil design synthesis, complementing the current portfolio you see from 34 to 58 feet, divided into the Grand Cruiser range and the acclaimed Performance range. It will also give continuity to the GS 80 project by taking advantage of a new production space. Performance, design, innovation. The new GS 72 will be a yacht developed according to the needs of those owners who appreciate a tailored approach, to live their adventures in comfort, safety and autonomy.

The new sailboat will have Franco Corazza as project director together with designers, technicians and craftsmen, listening to the opinions of a community that has been sailing with Grand Soleil boats since 1973, and establishing a personalized relationship with each owner of the future GS 72 in a co-creational journey.

This 72 feet is the result of a “Made in Italy” design, with a team of professionals, representatives of Italian excellence in the international nautical sector. Matteo Polli, a designer with extensive experience in the optimization of racing boats, Marco Lostuzzi works on the structures, drawing on the skills that have already made possible some of the most appreciated models of the Grand Cruiser and Nauta Design, the renowned and prestigious studio based in Milan that designs the deck and the interiors, to underline the intention of creating a boat with an expressly Italian aesthetic, with a modern and elegant design and highly comfortable ergonomics, both on deck and in its interiors.

High performance

The new GS 72 will have smooth, clean and elegant shapes, combined with water lines that will effectively communicate a strong attitude towards performance thanks to a reduced overhead construction. The unique hull design and widened cross sections will allow for great lateral stability and a highly accentuated dynamic length. In addition to this, the pronounced “V” of the hull of the boat, far from being a deliberately flat boat in its hull, will facilitate the passage of the wave and offer, in the end, a comfortable and smooth navigation.

Sail plane

The sail plane consists of a very generous “fore triangle” and a very accentuated “J” (boom) to make it easier to trim and govern, making the mainsail also very powerful in moderate winds and sea lengths of short wave. The boat will be ready with a left wing sail, a Code 0 as well as a gennaker.

On board

The ergonomics on board, typical of all Grand Soleil, will be highlighted by the ease of use and safety for the crew
The highly efficient tiller blade allows for easy maneuvering and precise steering. The keel will be in the shape of an inverted “T” profiled with weldox and lead. Lifting and telescopic keels may be installed.

The deck will be characterized by the elegant and sporty style of the superstructure, with a wide area for the steering position, comfortable and adjusted to what would be a luxury sailboat with a Sporty accent.

Inside

The interior design will be designed and refined every volume and detail, both on the roof and the interiors to optimize all spaces and obtain a coherent interaction between exteriors and interiors. In the interiors, size, ergonomics, stowage, functions and quality of all accessories conform to the standards of superyachts. The design and the different material palettes and chromatic tones characterize the interiors with a sober, fresh, elegant and welcoming style.
