Furuno SafeSea EPIRB1 Pro beacon
Furuno inform its customers that Ocean Signal has expanded its range of maritime safety equipment with the introduction of the new SafeSea EPIRB1 Pro, the most compact EPIRB in the world!
In the event of the boat sinking, the EPIRB1 Pro will automatically detach from the housing and surface, automatically activating upon contact with the water.
COSPAS / SARSAT system
SafeSea EPIRB1 Pro works with the Cospas-Sarsat system, which uses three satellite networks, including the new MEOSAR.
Such a system can calculate position using Doppler processing techniques and is less susceptible to obstructions that could block the signal in a given direction. The new EPIRB1 Pro incorporates a state-of-the-art 66-channel GPS receiver for immediate alarm transmission and increased accuracy when providing location coordinates.
To ensure the highest probability of survival in an emergency, Ocean Signal SafeSea EPIRB1 Pro communicates the location of survivors to search and rescue services in three ways:
through the Cospas-Sarsat 406MHz satellite system with location provided by an integrated GPS receiver;
via a 121.5 MHz signal;
Using LED strobe light to maximize visibility in low light conditions.
Once activated, SafeSea EPIRB1 Pro transmits, via satellite link, the user’s position and unique identification to a Rescue Coordination Center.
The Ocean Signal EPIRB1 Pro operates in a temperature range between -20 ° C and 55 ° C and is waterproof to a depth of 10 meters. The EPIRB will broadcast the signal for 48 hours to keep rescue services updated for a longer time.
The EPIRB1 Pro contains high performance lithium batteries to ensure maximum reliability.
The new EPIRB1 PRO (CAT1, automatic release) together with the EPIRB1 (CAT2, manual release) will replace the E100 / E100G series, products out of production, but still available while stocks last.
