Vessel “Tsunami”, helmed by Rodrigo Ducasse, went from second to first place in the tournament that brings together a hundred sailors in the bay of Algarrobo. Second march is the national champion “New Wave”, by Pablo Herman, and third, “Andare Facile” by Diego González.

The best foreigner is the “Argentina” of the Olympic medalist Javier Conte, sixth in the provisional table of the contest, which will run until Sunday 12.

Led by Rodrigo Ducasse’s “Tsunami”, the Chilean crews are starring in an outstanding participation, occupying the first five places in the Santander South American Sailing Championship J / 70, which is being held in the Cofradía Náutica del Pacífico (Algarrobo), bringing together a hundred sailors from Argentina, Brazil and Chile.

The most important international nautical tournament of the year completed three regattas on the second day of competition, totaling six tests (three took place on Thursday), in which “Tsunami”, manned by Rodrigo, Francisco, Ignacio and Andrés Ducasse, along with Pedro Vera has shown the greatest consistency, adding 11 negative points, which allowed her to go from second to first rung of the provisional table.

Second is the brand new national champion “New Wave”, by Pablo Herman, Felipe Echenique, Luis Felipe Herman and Carlos Montes (-17), and third, “Andare Facile”, by Diego, Trinidad and Alberto González, Ignacio Moraga and Ian Kuhlenthal (18). They are followed by “Morenita” by Vernon Robert (-22) and “La Negra” by Alfredo Urzúa (29). Sixth, and best foreigner in the contest, march “Argentina” by the 470 Olympic medalist Javier Conte, with Mario de Jesús, Ignacio Giamonna and Otto Silvestri (-30), while the Brazilian “Three Musketeers”, by Alberto Guarischi, Mauricio Santacruz, André Guarischi and Julio Falcao are seventh (-32).

The competition for the regional title of the specialty will run until December 12, always with starts from noon. The award ceremony is scheduled for Sunday, at 4.30 pm.

The J-70 sailboat, designed in 2012 by the American Alan Johnstone, is the sportboat of the moment, with more than a thousand boats built around the world, of which fifty have a base port in South America.
