Zodiac announced the launch of a range of electric boats powered by Torqeedo.

As the first full range of 100% electric boats since the E-Jet in 2017, the new Zodiac eOPEN RIBs are equipped with Torqeedo propulsion systems including motor, batteries and charger.

“We have designed this range for the consumers of today and tomorrow,” says Fanny Revert-Ciavattini, Zodiac Product Marketing Manager.

“Today’s pleasure boats are not accessible to everyone and have many obstacles: long-term cost, maintenance, repair, ecological awareness, noise…

“To respond to these problems, it became important and urgent to imagine a range that would be part of a future-oriented approach. 100% electric, these two new models meet new customer needs: no maintenance, no noise, no service, less pollution, easy and responsive driving, and an affordable price.

“Electric mobility is gaining ground around us and, as the leader in the semi-rigid market, we couldn’t lose it. Torqeedo is the ideal partner to develop these new products. ”

The first two models in the range, the 3.1 and 3.4, are easy to drive, easy to store and easy to tow. They have four to six seats, depending on the size, and allow 50 minutes of autonomy at a speed of approximately 12 knots.

“We were delighted to partner with Zodiac on their eOPEN line of electric rigid inflatables. ”Says Michael Rummel, MD of Torqeedo.

Several options are available on the new models, including EVA floor, bimini, rear ladder, storage net, lift kit, Fusion audio system, and more.

Models 3.1 and 3.4 will be on display at the Cannes Yacht Festival
