Naïf wins the Overall of the X Principality of Monaco Trophy

Ivan Gardini’s Naïf (1973) celebrates its first fifty years since its launch by winning the Overall of the 10th Principality of Monaco Le Vele d’Epoca in Laguna Trophy BNL-BNP Paribas Wealth Management Cup.

The two races scheduled for the regatta, promoted by Anna Licia Balzan, Honorary Consul of the Principality of Monaco in Venice, took place on Saturday and Sunday with optimal weather and sea conditions: calm sea with a light breeze. The tenth edition of the Trophy benefited from the patronage of the Municipality of Venice and the Italian Navy.

The Trophy, which saw twenty-five boats built between 1858 and the 2000s lined up on the starting line, was organized under the sporting direction of Mirko Sguario, president of the Venice Yacht Club and patron of the Venice Hospitality Challenge. The event saw the collaboration of the CircoloVelico Il Portodimare and the patronage of A.I.V.E., the Italian Vintage Sailing Association. President of the Regatta Committee Giancarlo Frizzarin assisted by Emilia Barbieri.

In the morning, the public was able to admire the Ladies of the Sea up close along the banks of the San Marco basin during the spectacular sailing that distinguishes the Principality of Monaco Trophy. Also present are the colorful traditional lugsails. The event, hosted by the Navy and the Boat Show, ended in the Arsenale with the assignment of prizes kindly offered by the historic Murano glassworks Barovier & Toso, while the results of the individual regattas will compete for the assignment of the A.I.V.E. Cup. of the Adriatic 2023.
