Mercury Next Gen DTS. Digital Shift and Throttle System

New Mercury Next Generation Digital Shift and Throttle System

Mercury Marine today introduced its next generation Digital Throttle and Shift System (DTS) with integrated, intuitive and intelligent technology that enhances the boating experience.

The Next Gen DTS system comes with all the successful features of the DTS system already launched by Mercury in 2004, including ultra-responsive and smooth throttle response, without any uncertainty, and full integration with digital SmartCraft technologies. .

The Next Gen DTS system, in addition to representing an important step in the evolution of the product, combines an advanced operating system, an improved ergonomic design of electronic remote controls (ERC) and additional user-friendly features.

Among the improvements made are the Active Trim activation and adjustment buttons that are now integrated into the Next Gen DTS panel, so the additional control panel on the dash is no longer necessary.

Active Trim automatically and continuously adjusts the engine trim based on variations in GPS speed to improve performance, range and simplify operation.

The next-generation DTS uses a robust operating system in addition to providing basic functions, it has also had an update to intelligently and automatically improve throttle control for SmartCraft-connected systems such as Joystick Piloting and Skyhook.

The new range of ERC electronic remote controls offers solutions for boats with a configuration of up to 6 engines. In the case of a one-time installation, the remote controls are available for panel and console mounting. In the case of multi-engine configurations, boaters can choose between the standard console-mounted dual-lever remote control and the Premium dual-lever remote control with an innovative digital display, integrated into the control panel. The display provides a wide variety of information to help the boat owner stay fully connected to the propulsion system during all phases of boat operation.

Each remote features the same chrome-on-black aesthetic and dynamic styling in line with the current “Mercury DNA” drive system.

“The ergonomics provide a very natural connection that invites the boat owner to push the throttle lever and experience the power of the engine, with intuitive features that enhance the boating experience.

Additional features include a green light on the throttle lever that allows you to quickly determine gear position, a convenient throttle-only function to start and warm up the engine, a large start / stop button, and a generous size adjustment toggle. .

Remote controls for multi-engine installations have a start / stop button to start / stop all engines simultaneously and a start / stop button to start and stop each engine individually, as well as the ability to adjust all engines, or in once or for each motor separately.

Boats equipped with the Mercury single outboard electric steering system have a quick direction button on the single lever remote control. Industry-pioneering fast steering improves low-speed maneuverability and limited steering angle. This configuration provides a full steering angle with just a quarter turn of the steering wheel, left or right. A greater command of the direction facilitates the process of maneuvering and lashing in tight spaces.

The new control system replaces the old one for use with all Mercury DTS compatible sterndrives, inboards, diesel and outboards.

The Verado® engine range, including the all-new 600hp Verado V12, comes standard with the next-generation DTS.
