Liz Wardley sets new record in transatlantic row

Liz Wardley, a four-time competitor in The Ocean Race, has just completed her latest challenge, after crossing the finish line in The World’s Toughest Row.

Liz took on the race as a solo competitor, and rowed over 3000 nautical miles. She finished the race in English Harbour, Antigua after 44 days 4 hours and 47 minutes, taking an incredible 15 days off the previous race record.

When asked about the experience Liz said, “Well, first of all thank you everybody – this has been incredible. So I have raced around the world three times and I can tell you, I have never had to dig so deep. This is something very special, something very different.”

Liz was racing for the Chumpy Pullin Foundation which provides support and inspiration for Australians to participate in sport.
