Furuno releases new software version 2.01 for NavNet TZtouch 3 for free

Furuno  announce the official release of the new software version 2.01 of the NavNet TZtouch 3 series of multifunction displays.

The new version of software, available for free, is even more complete and powerful thanks to improvements made to existing devices and new features including features, such as the PBG (Personal Batymetric Generator) or the Fish-It / Drift-It.

PBG function: creation of custom bathymetric maps
In the new software update, the innovative PBG (Personal Bathymetric Generator) function is available that allows, when interacting with the DFF-3D multibeam sonar, to create custom bathymetric maps of the seafloor.

Thanks to the 120 ° beamwidth of the DFF-3D, the user will be able to create custom, high-resolution relief graphics easily, quickly and accurately. These graphics will be stored locally on the TZtouch 3 multifunction display.

How does the PBG work?
Seabed images will be drawn on the NavNet TZtouch 3 multifunction display with shaded relief, depth contours and variable colors. This will allow easy interpretation of the conformation of the seabed with its ridges, reliefs and depressions.
There are 6 different color combinations available, including the ability to display only the contour lines.
The area covered by each ping is approximately twice the depth of the bottom, so if the bottom is 100m deep, a 200m wide area will be displayed and recorded on the multifunction display.

The TZtouch3 PBG enables high-precision background mapping that previously could only be achieved with elaborate acoustic measurement systems. The PBG, on the other hand, is easy to use and the maps produced are at the same time detailed and understandable at a glance.

Furuno engineers have spent years developing and trying to make hardware and software accurate and intuitive.
The bottom map data is saved on the microSD card that can be connected to the back of the NavNet TZtouch3 multifunction display; A 256GB memory card will suffice to store the collected PBG data for a lifetime.

Note: The PBG works by interfacing with the DFF-3D multibeam sonar connected to a NavNet TZtouch 3 TZT9F, TZT12F, TZT16F or TZT19F multifunction display. For the best bottom mapping performance and accuracy, it is recommended to connect the Satellite CompassTM Furuno in addition to a correct DFF-3D calibration.

Fish-It & Drift-It functions
The new version 2.01 of the software includes two amazing new features called Fish-It & Drift-It, which will allow you to catch more fish while saving time and fuel.

Just click the point on the map where you want to fish to activate the Fish-It feature. The latter will allow you to automatically create a “Fishing Destination Point” that will automatically display the ring and the route bar.

A straight line between the ship’s position and the Fish-It point will indicate the heading and a Fish-It data bar will appear at the top of the screen from which the Drift-It function can be activated. This last very important function will automatically indicate the exact position from which to drift the boat to reach the desired fishing point. The user can select the desired Drift-It (eg 3 min., 5 min. Or even 20 min.)
This revolutionary technology is only available on the TZtouch 3 multifunction display!
