Jericoacoara Beach will be the stage for the first time for the “Jeri Wingfoil Cup”, an unprecedented international championship in the modalities: Wing Race, Wave and Freestyle.
The event takes place between December 13th and 18th in Ceará, with structures set up in front of the Vila Kalango inn, bringing the final of the World and Brazilian Wingfoil championship promoted by: International Wing Sports Association – IWSA and World Cup Race in partnership with the Pousada Vila Kalango and the Government of the State of Ceará.
Ceará is considered one of the best places in the world to practice nautical and sailing sports, such as kitesurfing. Athletes and sailors from all over the world are unanimous when they describe the coast of Ceará as the best destination for training and competitions of the most diverse modalities. Some important factors stand out, such as: warm water, sea with good waves, lagoons, and most importantly, trade winds almost all year round. Due to paradisiacal scenarios, and inspired by lovers of perfect sailing, Ceará has been hosting important stages of world championships for years.
New modalities of sailing sports, such as Wingfoil, have been attracting many practitioners for incredible experiences in the water. Some Brazilians stand out in the competition’s modalities: Kauli Seadi, Dudu Mazzocato and Fernando Mizo will show the best techniques and maneuvers in Wing Foil.
The international highlights are: Francesco Cappuzzo, current champion of the Wing Race category in Italy, in addition to the Venezuelan Gollito Estredo, a prominent name in the competition. Among the confirmed women is Paula Novotna, from the Czech Republic, Wingfoil freestyle world champion 2022.
