Valencia Mar, the private marina in Valencia, opens a new stage with the sign of complete

Valencia Mar, with 4 years of history, consolidates its growth with 450 boats permanently based in its marina, which represents 90% of its occupation with 55% of foreign shipowners. Valencia’s private marina, located in the extension area of the Real Club Náutico, already hosts 20 companies related to the nautical and hospitality sectors that make this port a recreational space with a wide range of sports activities, restaurants and Maintenance and repair services.

A port with a waiting list

Valencia Mar is prepared to receive ships from 8 to 120 meters in length with all the facilities provided for it. The city’s private marina differs from other surrounding ports due to its commitment to excellence and the comfort of its moorers. One of the disruptive elements that characterizes Valencia Mar is its mooring service with “fingers”, a concept that allows the vessel to carry out mooring and unmooring maneuvers that are much safer and more accessible. This, along with other services such as covered parking, electricity up to 600 amps, Wi-Fi, cable Internet, waste collection, seamanship 7 days a week, laundry, artificial beach, bars and shops, make this marina a growing space. available to the city of Valencia.

Gustavo Benavent, director of Valencia Mar, points out that “the sector currently offers very positive expectations despite the fact that the economy is not structurally on our side. Even so, nautical tourism has been considered “Covid-free”, which is why the boat sales and charter sector has experienced strong growth for two years.”

Business space

In addition, the sports marina is presented as the perfect alternative for the installation of all types of companies, both from the nautical sector and generalists. Its privileged location – just ten minutes from the center of Valencia – together with its offer of 700 free parking spaces with more than 500 covered spaces, combine the optimal conditions for the creation of an idyllic work environment. “Valencia Mar is currently negotiating the installation of 700 m2 of offices with sea views, two new restaurants, the construction of 48 storerooms and new changing rooms,” says the director of Valencia Mar.

New projects and activities for 2022

In line with its growth strategy, Valencia Mar opens 2022 with new projects. One of them is the creation of the Valencia Mar Sailing Club, which will serve as support in the development of sports activities that are held in this idyllic space such as a Winter Camp and an event of the European Circuit of the 69F class that will see the light in April. The 69F are extremely fast boats with hydrofoils of seven meters in length with the same concept of the AC75 of the current America’s Cup, but smaller.

The marina also enters fully into the international sailing circuits and, in fact, will host a Windsurfer class regatta on the last weekend of November – a “vintage” board modality – which has been growing exponentially in recent years.

Stocks with value

In 2022 the sports activities in Valencia Mar will intensify and, responding to the values of the marina, the marina will support sailor Juan Merediz in his personal challenge of preparing for the Global Solo Challenge regatta, one of the most challenging sailing milestones that will take place beginning in September 2023. For its part, Benavent assures that “from Valencia Mar we will also continue developing our activities such as SUP paddle tennis, diving, kayak fishing, and jet skis. In addition, we will continue working to consolidate the events that we have already carried out, such as the Paella Contest, the Floating Party, the Oktober Fest, the cleaning of the seabed and the painting exhibitions in Valparaiso”.

Spaces with quality of life and sustainability

The growth of Valencia Mar is also aligned with the marina’s commitment to sustainability, within the framework of which it has launched the “Eco Valencia Mar” program, based on three axes: waste management and cleaning, reduction of consumption and environmental awareness. Valencia Mar offers clean points with signs indicating the place where waste should be deposited and informing customers about the biological contamination produced by the faeces and urine of domestic animals. “One of our objectives is to raise awareness of the unnecessary expenditure of light that occurs in the marina, and for this, we have installed solar panels to heat the water in the bathrooms, LED lights in the covered parking and solar lights in the area of the beach,” says Benavent.

The cleaning actions are another of the strong bets of the marina. The marina distributes containers at the end of each pontoon and, along the same lines, offers a “little beach” with a sustainable bathing area, which uses seawater, avoiding chemical purification systems. Events are also held to clean the water surface and the seabed, as well as the disposal of nets so that anyone who sees waste in the sea can help keep the water surface clean. In this way, the Valencian nautical base is positioned as a space aligned with the objectives of sustainable mobility, offering customers and employees scooters, bicycles and electric chargers for vehicles.
