VIOLENT STORM IN WEST CORSICA – 8/18/2022
We were anchored in the Gulf of Valinco, 15 miles south of Ajaccio, when the storm that devastated Western Corsica arrived. We did just in time to go and face the cluster offshore, holding as much as possible the wave to the bow with the help of the engine. I did not look at the anemometer, but a nearby boat recorded gusts with a maximum of 88 knots.
