Regatta Go to Barcolana da Ravenna

Registrations are now open for the Go To Barcolana da Ravenna regatta, the event that is one of the “new routes” in the rich calendar of the Trieste event and has the ambition to be the collector of the boats of the Middle Adriatic coast .

Every year, in fact, a fleet of Barcolana participants moves from the shores of the Middle Adriatic to reach Trieste: more than a hundred crews face an “autumn cruise” to reach the moorings along the shores of Trieste and participate in the great feast of the land. and in the sea; this year the transfer becomes a regatta, which is part of the many innovations of Barcolana53.

To enrich the event with content and complete the calendar, in fact, the Barcola and Grignano Sailing Company and the Circolo Velico Ravennate have created the “Go to Barcolana da Ravenna” that will begin on Thursday, October 7 at 4.30 p.m. from Marina di Ravenna .. The regatta is open to all monohulls registered in the Barcolana 2021, as long as they have a minimum overall length of 8.46 m, which comply with the requirements of the World Sailing Offshore 2021 Special Regulations for category 3 regattas with obligation life raft and marine VHF. the on-board equipment required by Italian regulations for navigation up to 50 nautical miles. The division into classes will be the same as in the Barcolana, with the creation of groups to satisfy the minimum number: competitors will be assigned a single valid mascon number for the two regattas.

The Circolo Velico Ravennate will present a Trophy that will be awarded to the first general yacht of the special compensation time ORC classification: the trophy was designed and built in mosaic by ABA, the Academy of Fine Arts of Ravenna which has among its main activities the Teaching for the creation and restoration of mosaics that are the distinctive and natural vocation of the city of Romagna.

The ambition is, therefore, that all the boats that go up the Adriatic coast to reach Trieste can converge in Ravenna, and the members will be able to enjoy free moorings from Sunday, October 3, thanks to the collaboration with the marina Marinara .
