Rolex TP52 World Championship
Cascais, Portugal will host the 2022 Rolex TP52 World Championship from 20-25 June. Widely considered the grand prix of monohull racing, the annual event has been partnered by Rolex since 2017.
Across five days of competition and ten scheduled races, nine highly-competitive crews will contest one of sailing’s most significant prizes.
Portugal’s Atlantic Coast is renowned for its challenging sailing conditions. A democratic box rule guarantees an even playing field with the focus on teamwork, skill and delivering consistent performances in an intense, pressurized environment on compressed windward/leeward race courses.
Takashi Okura’s Sled from the United States starts as the defending champion knowing that to defend her crown will demand total concentration and excellence. At the Rolex TP52 World Championship the margins both on the water and in the final standings are slender.
