J70 World Championship in Buenos Aires

After three years of pursuing this goal, the day has finally arrived. This, October 27th, we will kick off the 2025 J70 International Class World Championship, organized by our club in Dársena Norte, Buenos Aires, Argentina. The first races will take place on Tuesday, October 28th. More than 70 teams representing 16 nations are at the Yacht Club Argentino to participate in this event.
Most of the boats have completed the measurement process, which was led by a team composed of Alexander Finsterbusch, Manuel Bunge, Cora Núñez Galarza, Jorge Giménez, Lucas Raffaelli, Marisa Ramos Delgado, Patricio Gutiérrez, Benjamín Cosentino, and María José Lovigne, along with a strong group of volunteers who collaborated throughout the process.
Some competitors have taken advantage of these days to practice and familiarize themselves with the race area, despite the unfavorable conditions, including rain and strong winds. However, most had already been training for weeks, even months.
On Monday, October 27, the pending measurements and accreditation will be carried out. At noon, a meeting will be held in the tent for all competitors. At 12:00, the practice race will begin, and at 6:00 p.m., the official Opening Ceremony of the World Championships will take place, where all competitors in the class will be welcomed. The races will begin on Tuesday, October 28, with a schedule of two races per day and after races, concluding on Saturday, November 1, with the closing ceremony and awards ceremony.
