“Bribon 500” and “Thisbe”, champions of the Xacobeo 6mR Europeans in a final day of heart attack

The Real Club Náutico de Sanxenxo (RCNS) boat skippered by Pedro Campos managed to take the lead in the Classics division after the last championship round. It is the second consecutive continental title for Campos.

In Swiss “Thisbe” by Michel Teweles confirms his dominance in the Pontevedra estuary and wins the general Open.

With a total of seven races contested, the Xacobeo 6mR Europeans crowned the new European champions of the class this Saturday in Sanxenxo. In the Classics division, Pedro Campos’ “Bribon 500” shone on the last day of racing, achieving, with a four-point lead, his second consecutive continental victory. In the Open, the leader did not give up since the second day of the championship and the title went to the Swiss “Thisbe” of Michel Teweles.

The regatta committee did not have it easy on this last day. The wind, very unstable and with little intensity, delayed the start for several hours until finally, after a work against the clock to prepare the race course and already at the edge of 3:00 p.m. -the time limit for the start of the race of today-, the fleet could hear the honk for an exciting last leg in the Pontevedra estuary with conditions of 10-12 knots from the northwest.

In the Open category, after three days sitting at the top of the standings, the Swiss “Thisbe” by Michel Teweles from the Club Nautic de Versoix managed to finish the Xacobeo 6mR Europeans this Saturday, becoming the new European champion of the class. With a fourteenth in the last heat that happened to become their discard, the Teweles managed to defend the leadership with three points of advantage over the also Swiss “Junior”, who with Philippe Durr at the helm today signed a brilliant second position with the one that promoted a position to take the continental silver.
