A man who was sailing in Laguna Beach appeared to him a giant fish never seen before, which swam under his board.
Rich German and Matt Wheaton were paddling when they came across a huge sunfish.
“It was a strangely large sunfish, like a mutilated half shark, we were stunned when we saw it,” said German.
“They are very rare creatures, and the one we saw was gigantic, and it floated on the surface taking a little bit of sun,” he added.
A sunfish is generally about 11 feet long, and can weigh up to 5,000 pounds.
Matt’s board is 14 feet long, and you can see from the photos how huge it was.
