UK Sailing Academy receives the largest donation

Work will begin this month on the construction of a new 136-bed accommodation facility for the UKSA – UK Sailing Academy, the 30-year-old UK non-profit maritime charity.

The new facilities on UKSA’s Cowes campus will allow an additional 3,000 children and youth to learn on time through 150 courses on sailing, water sports and other marine activities.

The UKSA trains some 8,000 children and more than 1,500 career students to work in the growing global maritime industry each year.

This new project has been made possible by a series of donations including $ 1.9 million from the TK Foundation, the largest donation in UKSA history; an additional contribution of £ 450,000 from the Whirlwind Charitable Trust (a long-term sponsor of UKSA) and a new donation of £ 300,000 from The Bradbury Foundation.

The UKSA site will remain fully operational during development works, with completion scheduled for mid-2022.
