Trofeo Princesa Sofía Mallorca : Friday is D Day in the quest for Podium

Trofeo Princesa Sofía Mallorca

It’s the last full day of fleet racing at the 54 Trofeo Princesa Sofía Mallorca by FERGUS Hotels the decisive stage which will determine who makes it to the Medal races and Finals tomorrow. And so the pressure ramps up even more and for many now is the time to push the risk whilst others can be a little more conservative.

First thing this morning the early drainage breeze off the land has very much died though it remains in the NE but it really is very light. And it is very overcast, almost thundery. Forecast do show some seabreeze coming in from the SE, only around 7kts at 1300hrs but maybe building to 12kts.

The biggest points lead is that of the French 49er duo Erwan Fischer and Clément Péquin who have 24 points in hand. In the Men’s Kites Singapore’s Max Maeder is 19 points ahead of Olympic champion Valentin Bontus (Austria) and in the Men’s iQFOiL Grae Morris (Australia) has a sizeable 36 points in hand and GBR’s Emma Wilson has 22 points of margin but in the windsurfer and kite classes the points gap is not really relevant.

Friday’s programme should start on time. The intended programme is:
