World Sailing has announced its nominations for the World Sailing Awards and sailors and teams from The Ocean Race are spread across the categories.
American skipper Charlie Enright is nominated for Male Sailor of the Year after he led 11th Hour Racing Team to victory in The Ocean Race – the first time an America team has claimed the title.
11th Hour Racing Team itself is also nominated as team of the year for its impressive come-from-behind victory in The Ocean Race.
And the Biotherm Sailing Team is nominated for the 11th Hour Racing Sustainability Award, after the team studied biodiversity, capturing data onboard their IMOCA class yacht using an automated microscope to analyse phytoplankton in understudied parts of the ocean.
You can vote for your favourite in each category here until midnight on 30 October.
This year’s awards will be presented during the live World Sailing Awards on Tuesday 14 November in Malaga, Spain.
