Incredible images of creatures that live in the darkest part of the ocean
Woods Hole Oceanic Institution bases its work on The Darkest of the Ocean: The Twilight Zone
It is a strip of water that is between 200 and 1000 meters below the surface of the sea, a little beyond the reach of the sunlight.
Its purpose is to know and understand all facets of the ocean, and also the relationships it has with the planet’s atmosphere, land, ice and human life.
Together with photographer Paul Caiger, they are dedicated to advancing knowledge of the sea, to preserving and understanding it.
