The European IQ Foil Championship is in the starting block

2021 iQFOiL European Championships

22-28 October 2021 – Marseille, France

Today is the official start of the European IQ Foil Championship, the first regatta at sea for this new Olympic series, and above all in the new area of the 2024 Olympic Games.

The program of the day: a final training session and registrations for the 231 competitors, most of whom have been at sea in Marseille since the beginning of the week.

A very high level and the French as strong as ever, in particular with the presence of the two world champions Hélène Noesman and Nicolas Goyard, the last two Olympic medalists.  Nicolas Goyard in Tokyo and Pierre Le Coq in Rio, without forgetting Louis Giard member of the club “La Pelle” European champion RS: X in 2017.

Beware the competition will be tough, the best world athletes from  38 nations represented here in Marseille, undoubtedly have a little revenge to take on the French and will not stop there.

As for the volunteers, they will be no less than a hundred, working hand in hand  all week to make this championship a success.

Despite everything, it is obviously tomorrow that the “serious” things will start, with the launch of the first race.

The athletes will thus compete on the water spread over two race zones, during the next 5 qualifying days.

Their common goal, to win the Holy Grail, a place for the finals which will take place on Thursday, or even better, a place on the podium.

See you tomorrow at 11am on the water, if Eole is in the game!
