Jeff Bezos’ yacht
Rotterdam has confirmed that it will dismantle a historic bridge to allow the passage of Jeff Bezos’ new superyacht built by Oceanco.
13,000 people are “interested” and nearly 4,000 have said they will attend a Facebook event titled “Throwing Eggs at Jeff Bezos Superyacht,” which has been shared more than 1,000 times a week since its inception.
The 417ft (127m) long vessel is too tall to pass over the Koningshaven Bridge, you will see the bridge dismantled.
A spokesman for the mayor confirmed as much, saying Jeff Bezos will foot the bill.
The center section of the De Hef bridge would be temporarily removed to allow the 40 m (130 ft) tall ship to pass through.
The steel bridge has a long history and is a national monument. It has already undergone a renovation that took it out of service from 2014 to 2017, when authorities said it would not be dismantled again. Now they promise that the bridge would be rebuilt in its current form.
