The well-known Darwin Arch, located in the northernmost part of the archipelago, is a natural stone bridge that was erected less than a kilometer from Darwin Island.
The collapse was attributed to the effect of natural erosion on this structure.
The collapse occurred on Monday morning and could be seen by the crew of a ship that was in the area.
