Simrad with Sergio Davì on his “Ocean to Ocean RIB Adventure”

Simrad Yachting with Sergio Davì on his new adventure

Simrad Yachting announced the continuation of the partnership with Sergio Davì, 65, a professional raider and president of CiuriCiuriMare (CCM), a company dedicated to extreme adventure on a boat.

Sergio Davì announced his new challenge, Ocean to Ocean RIB Adventure, is scheduled for fall / winter 2021/2022 and will see him travel more than 10,000 nautical miles from Palermo to Los Angeles, California.

Davìw, an expert in ocean navigation, has completed several adventures in the oceans: the last one was the Ice RIB Challenge 2019, sailing 7,000 miles from Palermo to New York.
“Challenges of this magnitude require great mental and physical strength, but they also depend on the right equipment on board,” said Davì. “I couldn’t even remotely think of meeting these challenges without my partners.”

Sergio Davì will trust his Simrad® kit to help him overcome this 10,000 nautical mile challenge in complete safety. “We are very proud to be able to allow extraordinary people to take on extraordinary challenges like this,” said James Methven, Global Brand Director for Simrad Yachting. ”

Davì will embark on the Ocean to Ocean RIB adventure with a 10m Nuova Jolly inflatable boat (RIB) with two Suzuki outboards. The route of this latest challenge has some similarities to Palermo-Brazil from 2017 and will see Davì tackle another challenging crossing of the Atlantic Ocean. With scheduled stops in Venezuela and Colombia, Davì will sail along the Panama Canal to the Pacific Ocean, with one step from the Galapagos Archipelago before continuing to Mexico and California.

Davì and his team estimate that the Ocean to Ocean RIB Adventure will take around 100 days, including about 25 at sea. The longest leg of the trip will be between Cape Verde and Barbados, more than 2,000 nautical miles. This part of the trip will be a record in the record!

Simrad will follow Sergio and his team as they prepare for the Ocean to Ocean RIB adventure.
