A window of good weather was expected around noon, followed by a storm in the afternoon. The forecast proved accurate as strong rains and south winds arrived after the races, while competitors were entering the harbor. Despite this, both fleets managed to complete three races in this qualifying stage.
The new leader of the championship is the Danish sailor Anne Marie Rindom, who won two out of the three races today and secured the sixth position in the last one. Rindom is the reigning Olympic champion and already holds three ILCA 6 world titles.
In the second position, two points behind the leader, is the Swedish sailor Josefin Olsson, the Olympic runner-up at the Tokyo 2020 Games.
Completing the podium is the American sailor Charlotte Rose, who won the silver medal at the 2019 Pan American Games.
All competitors enjoyed an after race at the Puerto Deportivo . The qualifying stage will continue tomorrow.
