A look at the top IMOCA finishers in the Fastnet Race – one of the classics on the offshore racing calendar – shows an abundance of names from The Ocean Race.
The teams were racing double-handed and the winning boat, MACIF SANTÉ PRÉVOYANCE, featured Charlie Dalin, who raced on the transatlantic Leg 5 with 11th Hour Racing Team back in March and Pascal Bidegorry, who spent many months training with 11th Hour Racing Team in the build-up to the Race.
In second place, Paprec Arkea was sailed by Yoann Richomme and Yann Elies. Richomme had previously raced with Team Holcim-PRB while Elies was with Team Malizia.
Sam Goodchild (Team Holcim-PRB) raced his For the Planet boat to a third place finish, with Chris Pratt (Team Malizia) in fourth, while Sam Davies (Biotherm) and Nico Lunven (Team Malizia) teamed up for a fifth place finish on Initiatives-Coeur 4.
