SailGP: Racing on the Edge // Season 3, Episode 2: Fresh Water Part 1
SailGP fans can now get the inside track on all the action from the T-Mobile United States Sail Grand Prix in the latest episode of the league’s behind-the-scenes docuseries Racing on the Edge.
The second epsiode of the season dissects the disappointing performance of the U.S. SailGP Team on the home waters of Lake Michigan.
Racing on the Edge shines the spotlight on the pressure put onto Driver Jimmy Spithill in the run up to the event and the flight control issues that plagued the team throughout racing.
Recalling a difficult weekend of racing, flight controller Hans Henken said: “He [Spithill] took it like a good leader should, he took the responsibility for what happened even though it’s not his really, it’s my responsibility – I’m the one flying the boat.”
The episode also offers a glimpse into Spithill’s racing debrief in the team’s Chicago tech base.
