Excitement is building for SailGP’s first ever event in Canada next month for the 11th event of Season 4 on June 1/2.
The race schedule and racecourse have now been confirmed, with the F50 fleet of national rivals set to compete across five fleet races before the top three ranked teams proceed into the winner-takes-all Final.
The fast and furious racing action will unfold just meters from the Halifax and Dartmouth shorelines across a back-to-back two day schedule.
Three fleet races take place on Saturday, before the two remaining fleet races and three-boat showdown take place on Sunday.
The Race Stadium will be open from 15:00-18:30 ADT on Saturday and Sunday, with racing scheduled between 16:00-17:30 ADT.
With only New York and San Francisco left before the top ranked three teams proceed into the Championship-deciding Grand Final, teams will be putting it all on the line to move up the season leaderboard.
Season leaders New Zealand is currently top of the fleet with 77 points – 10 points clear of the Aussies in second. Fresh from a triumphant victory in Bermuda, Diego Botin’s Spain currently sits in third with 65 points – 9 clear of ROCKWOOL DEN and France in 4th and 5th respectively.
Home team Canada meanwhile is just three points shy of the Danish and French and will be targeting a top finish in Halifax to move closer to a place in the Grand Final.
