PRESENTATION OF THE INTERNATIONAL JURY OF THE MIRABAUD YACHT RACING IMAGE AWARD 2022
The Mirabaud Yacht Racing Image international photo competition, organised in partnership with World Sailing, presents the members of its 2022 jury.
Loïc Venance (FRA), professional photographer at AFP and winner of the Mirabaud Yacht Racing Image award 2021, Jonquil Hackenberg (UK), Chair of the Magenta Project, Nicolas Mirabaud (SUI), Managing Partner, Mirabaud & Cie SA, Meg Reilly (USA), Marketing & Media consultant – Ocean Racers, The Magenta Project, Heineken Regatta, Brice Lechevallier (SUI), Editor-in-Chief of Skippers magazine, and David Graham (UK), CEO of World Sailing, will be selecting the year’s best sailing photos.
The thirteenth edition of the competition is open, and professional photographers are invited to submit their best photo taken since 5 October 2021. The top 20 images will be exhibited at World Sailing’s annual conference in Abu Dhabi and at the Yacht Racing Forum in Malta. The winners will be announced and celebrated during the Yacht Racing Forum on 21 November in front of the sports’ leading personalities from around the world.
“The 2022 sailing season coincides with the return of many competitions that have been cancelled in recent years. It is marked by very good participation throughout the world,”observes Nicolas Mirabaud, Managing Partner of the Mirabaud Group. “I am also looking forward to seing new pictures of boats and teams that will soon be involved in prestigious events such as the America’s Cup, the Olympic Games and the Vendée Globe, which make up the variety and beauty of this sport. The Mirabaud Yacht Racing Image award is a great opportunity to pay tribute to them.”
The 80 best images selected by the international jury will be published on the event website on 14 October, allowing the public to vote for their favourite photo.
The main prize, the Mirabaud Yacht Racing Image award, will be selected by the international jury, while the public award will be based on the votes collected on Internet. Finally, the Yacht Racing Forum Award will be based on votes from delegates at World Sailing’s annual Conference and the Yacht Racing Forum.
Photographs can be submitted until midnight on 9 October on the event website.
