THE GOLDEN CUP BARCELONA MARINA VELA REGATTA POSTS THE START TO SATURDAY AND SHORTENES THE COURSE.

Given the weather forecast and the strong mistral winds expected in front of Barcelona, the Race Committee has made the decision to postpone the start at 10am on Saturday, September 25.

Likewise, the decision has been made to cut the route to Barcelona-Blanes, Blanes-Barcelona.

Based on the weather forecast described, and after consulting with all the captains present at the meeting, the organizing committee has decided to postpone the start of the regatta until 10am on Saturday, September 26.

On the other hand, the decision to shorten the route has also been announced. A few days ago, with the temporary mistral report, the decision was made to change the original route, Barcelona-Dragonera-Barcelona, of 222 nautical miles, to the coastal circuit Barcelona-Blanes-Barcelona-Blanes-Barcelona, of 129 miles nautical. Considering the postponement and the variable wind conditions forecast for Saturday, the decision has been made to cut this alternative circuit establishing Barcelona-Blanes-Barcelona as the final route of 64.5 nautical miles.

Predicting the arrival time of the boats is difficult due to the unstable wind conditions that advance the part for tomorrow in the north of Maresme, but it is estimated that the bulk of the fleet will arrive throughout the night of Saturday and Sunday morning.

The regatta can be followed through the Sailing Control system and the antennas installed on the boats. Link:
