FlyingNikka by King Marine
The FlyingNikka, designed by Mills design studio and with Micky Costa as project manager, will be the first mini maxi foiler in the world. It is an extraordinarily complex technical challenge.
The idea is to take the lessons and some of the technology from the America’s Cup AC75 foiling monohull and put them together in a more user friendly and cost-effective package which can sail in a wider range of conditions.
The boat does not need a keel or bulb to operate, but does need to be legal under WS Offshore Special Regs Category 3 rules.
Without Roberto Lacorte’s young, sporty and enthusiastic spirit, it would be impossible to meet this challenge. King Marine is going to build the most exciting new design project outside the America’s Cup. She will be delivered in 2022.
