Pierpaolo Lazzarini’s New “Floating Motors” Concept Brings Iconic Cars to the Water
Expanding his collection of innovative boat concepts, Italian designer Pierpaolo Lazzarini has introduced a new system, Floating Motors, that transforms cars into water vehicles.
Called “resto-floating“, the new mechanism is available in different versions and can be installed on any model to take some of the most legendary cars to the water.
Pierpaolo Lazzarini has used this concept and founded a company called “Floating Motors“, which offers the possibility of turning some of the most iconic car models into elegant water containers.
Customers can choose from several models, different lengths, simple hulls or catamarans, and foils.
All models can be powered with zero emissions, using single or twin Torqeedo electric motors from 20hp to 270hp, or fitted as standard with common 40hp to 350hp twin outboards.
Lazzarini has launched a crowdfunding campaign for the project, donating 1% of the brand to each client capable of investing in the purchase of a first model of the founders edition “LA DOLCE“, which retails for USD $ 50,000 all 10 limited edition units.
The capital raised will be used entirely for the construction of molds and prototypes related to the planned models that the company plans to introduce in the next two years.
Each car model can be retrofitted in FRP or carbon fiber respecting the original measurements of the car chassis; instead, custom updates for water usage will be installed on demand.
Conceived primarily for the beach and lakes, each model can be used for leisure or become a tender for a superyacht, or beach water transport.
