Finn Class Spanish Championship

The member of the Argentine Olympic Team, Facundo Olezza Bazan from the Barlovento Sailing Club of Buenos Aires, is the leader of the Finn Olympic Class Spanish Championship organized by the Real Club Náutico de La Coruña, and which is immersed in the Abanca Week 2020, at the end of the first day.

The finnist from the Club de Vela Barlovento de Buenos Aires has top three in the three races held, demonstrating his status as a great favorite.

Good days of wind and sea in Galician waters on Saturday, with a beautiful exit towards the windward beacon … which was truncated because a roll of more than 30 degrees so advised, immediately the judges with Chuco Pérez Lafuente in command they hoisted the “N” flag (similar to the one shown to the Formula 1 at arrivals), which means “cancellation” and start over. The worst for Fernández Vasco, who was the leader at the time.

The second time was the charm, but with less wind … despite this, the start was very fair in which the Argentine Finnist took advantage and achieved his first victory. After him Andrés Lage of Venezuela, being the third place for the two-time champion of the Spanish Cup, Miguel Fer4nández Vasco, fourth the world cruiser champion Jesús Pitos and fifth the Japanese Yuji Fujimura.

The second with weak but sufficient winds, was almost a copy of the opening, with the difference that the Japanese climbed to fourth place, the Catalan Terol did it to fifth … for his part, Pintos went to twelfth and being the sixth another from A Coruña, David Rivero.

Nor did the Argentine fail in the third round with another first … and that is because in the last Olympic Games Facundo achieved no less than two first places in the finn class … Miguel Vasco took second place, so he accumulates a third and two seconds… in a tough fight on the podium with the Venezuelan Andres Lage who accumulates 2-3-3 and the Japanese Fujimura with 5-4-4. The fifth in contention is David Terol Albadalejo from the Torredembarra Club, who was a European laser champion.

The level in Abanca Week, in this Finn Spanish Championship-Xunta de Galicia Trophy is very high, at the moment the owner and lord is Facundo Olezza from Argentina … with our two-time Spanish Cup champion, Miguel Fernández Vasco from A Coruña which is in the “silver” position, being Andrés Lage from Venezuela the provisional broce.

The second day of competition is scheduled for Sunday, in which three races are scheduled in the Herculine bay, which will begin at the edge of twelve in the morning.
