VIDEO: A FERRY ENCLOSES BY STRONG STORM IN FINLAND

FINLAND: THE FERRY VIKING GRACE GROUNDED IN THE ALAND ISLANDS

The ferry Viking Grace, caught in a violent storm in Finland during a maneuver in the Aland Islands, ran aground due to the strong wind that pushed it towards the coast

On board the ferry that left Mariehamn and headed for Turku, there were 331 passengers and 98 crew members, none of them were injured. All the occupants spent the night on board, while the divers worked to check the condition of the hull.

The ship was able to continue its journey, thanks to the authorization issued by the local authorities, who considered that sufficient security conditions existed to complete the journey, then the Viking Grace was taken to a shipyard for repairs.

Viking Grace is a ship of ecological sustainability. In addition to running on LNG, it has a Norsepower rotor wing to further reduce fuel consumption and emissions to the environment.
