An Expert Engineer And Marine Industry Pro To Exciting Young Team
Cyclops Marine have made quite an impact since being founded in 2018. Supplying wireless load sensors to INEOS TEAM UK, multiple Olympic and IMOCA Teams, through to a great number of regular weekend sailors, they changed the game by bringing load sensing to a general audience for the first time with the launch of their flagship ‘smart’ range through 2020 & 2021.
Starting 2022 off on the right foot, they have appointed two fresh-faced, high-level sailors who are also top graduates and experts in their industry fields to new roles within the team:
Jess Lavery: Operations Manager
The newest member of the Cyclops team, Jess brings a wealth of sailing knowledge, having been a member of the British Sailing Team for 8 years. She is a world class coach, currently coaching the RYA 420 Youth Squad. She is also a highly capable engineer, having completed her BEng at Bristol University alongside her sailing. Since retiring from Olympic sailing she has been working as a test engineer for Magma Global and is looking forward to combining her engineering and sailing knowledge at Cyclops Marine.
Ben Hazeldine: Sales Manager
With a burning passion for sailing, Ben developed his knowledge and skills through years of competing and coaching at a world class level. Picking up his first national title aged 14, he has gone onto multiple international top 10s in the 470 class, a class win at the Rolex Fastnet and score podiums in IRC, P40 and One Design fleets. Ben graduated with a first-class honours degree in Business Management, and has experience in technical account management, working closely with OEM and aftermarket accounts in both cruising and performance sectors. His journey in the industry so far has taken him via Seldén Mast and Harken inc, now with Cyclops, he’s enjoying connecting with new customers and bringing all of his knowledge to a new sphere.
