The Felicity Ace, which was carrying around 4,000 vehicles, is still burning more than a week after igniting.
The vessel carries around 4,000 vehicles, including Porsches, Audis and Bentleys, estimated to be worth more than $400 million.
Some are believed to be electric vehicles with lithium-ion batteries, which has complicated the firefighting effort. The cause of the fire is unknown.
The white smoke coming out of the car carrier has been reduced compared to the last few days.
Once conditions permit, a salvage team is expected to board the Felicity Ace for an assessment.
The Felicity Ace fire started last Wednesday, February 16, approximately 90 nautical miles southwest of the Azores.
The 22 crew members left the vessel, picked up by a nearby tanker and brought ashore by a Portuguese Navy helicopter.
