SailGP fans have backed Dylan Fletcher’s Emirates GBR to deliver back-to-back event wins when racing gets underway at the Rolex Los Angeles Sail Grand Prix this weekend.
The British team picked up 25.6% of the fan vote, beating Australia, New Zealand and Season 4 champions Spain, the latter of which won here last season.

It comes after Fletcher’s team took the win at last month’s KPMG Australia Sail Grand Prix in Sydney, following podium finishes in both Dubai and Auckland. The team’s run of impressive results follows Fletcher’s reinstatement as driver – he previously held the role in Season 1 before team CEO Ben Ainslie replaced him in Season 2.

Tom Slingsby’s Australia was voted second most likely to take the win in LA with 18.8% of the vote.
This follows 5-1-3 event finishes so far this season; results which see them sit second on the Championship leaderboard behind Emirates GBR,
Peter Burling’s New Zealand, the dominant team of last season, sits in third with 15.4% of the vote, ahead of Giles Scott’s NorthStar Canada with 14.5%. The Canadians had an impressive performance in Sydney too, placing second behind Fletcher’s squad.
The Rolex Los Angeles Sail Grand Prix takes place on March 15/16 with racing from 2:00pm – 3:30pm PDT.
