COMING TO NAPLES FOR PR2? HERE’S ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW FOR ON-WATER SPECTATORS
Preparations are well underway for the second Preliminary Regatta of the Louis Vuitton 38th America’s Cup from the 24-27 September 2026. The venue will be the vibrant city of Naples, and the action is set to take place right in the Bay of Naples offering an incredible shoreside spectacle from almost every vantage point, but especially at the Official Race Village situated all along the Via Francesco Caracciolo that will be closed to traffic for the regatta.
The racecourse area has now been published and for those spectators wishing to view the nine AC40s in action from the water, action is required. You must read and fully comply with the regulations now published and it is a requirement that all vessels register via the official form. Designated zones for on-water spectators have been defined, and marshals will be on hand to guide and control the spectator fleet – please comply with their instructions.
It is imperative for safety that the NO WAVE, NO WASH policy is adhered to. This means that a speed limit of 5 knots has been imposed around the racecourse. This is to ensure the safety of the AC40s as well as fellow spectators and there are also restrictions that must be observed namely: No Swimming, No Anchoring and No Drone flying in the area.
This is all to ensure your enjoyment and safety on the water, and importantly the safety of others.

Please note that official race days are only three (3) days – Friday 25th, Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th September and racing will take place between 1400 – 1600 hrs each day. Spectator boats should aim to arrive at the designated viewing areas by 1330 hrs.
Remember, it can a long day on the water. Racing starts at 14:00 CEST and is expected to conclude by 16:00 CEST. There will be three races per day on a tight racecourse in the Bay of Naples.
