More than 120 superyachts sailed into the harbour for the Monaco Yacht Show, creating an impressive floating display that stretches across the Mediterranean. From sleek racing yachts to towering multi-deck giants, the collection shows off the very best of modern boat building.

Throughout the day, visitors are admiring the elegant lines and craftsmanship of these floating palaces. Each yacht tells a story of cutting-edge design, where traditional luxury meets modern technology and many Superyacht Owners and Captains attending the show have a keen interest in visiting the Asia Pacific area.

East Meets West

It is great to be here at the show meeting all the captains that have been cruising the Western med for years. When they stop by the stand and see what Asia has to offer, they are immediately impressed”, reports Asia Pacific Superyachts co-founder, Captain Charlie Dwyer.

The regulations in the med have become so oppressive over the years that most captains are looking for a fresh alternative. The rules, the regulations and the prices are making Asia a true alternative with costs generally 25% cheaper. The rules and regulations are such that the clients can once again enjoy the experience without being told “NO” at every move.

Back again to share the most up-to-date information on revising regulations, new marinas and new explorations is Asia Pacific Superyachts (APS) at Stand DS26. Among the dozen APS directors and superyacht experts, APSSeychelles General Manager, Gilbert O’Ffay reports, “We are delighted to be back at the Monaco Boat Show with Asia Pacific Superyachts. We look forward using the show to strengthen our presence in the region and explore new business opportunities.

We’re thrilled to be exhibiting at Asia Pacific Superyachts (APS), Stand DS26, during this year’s Monaco Yacht Show (24-27 September in Port Hercules”, enthuses APS Maldives director Mohamed Hameed, noting the Maldives and all APS Southeast Asia regions have considerable news and cruising ideas to share with visitors. Hameed reports, “The Monaco Yacht Show is a spectacular platform for us to meet and reconnect withour industry partners and meet new ones. Do drop by, as it would be our pleasure to host you and share the latest updates from our regional offices, and explore how we can collaborate. Governments in many of the Asia Pacific island countries are looking to support the yachting community and industry by allowing more marinas to be constructed and expanded alongside upgraded regulations.”

Asia Pacific regions are enhancing worldwide yachting visits with revised charter license laws along with changes that will make it so much easier and less costly for more superyachts to visit these country islands, nowmore accessible than ever in the past, with new world-class marinas opening and being expanded”, reports APS GM and co-founder Gordon Fernandes. APS members meeting visitors at the APS Stand include Gordon Fernand, Mohamed Hameed, Captain Charlie Dwyer, Tanyuta Singhmanee (Jojo), Nadhira Muneer, Adam Wadhood, Gilbert o’Ffay, Christophe Houareau and Keith Mellon,.

Asia Pacific’s exotic cruising appeal and news of a lessening in restrictions and new marinas is critical information for superyacht owners, captains and those looking to charter a trip to the area, with many recognising that unlike the Med and the Caribbean, the Asia Pacific cruising season is year-round.
