Damage to Actual Ultim 3 (Anthony Marchand) after high speed collision with object south of Cape of Good Hope.
Whilst racing in the Roaring Forties in fourth position on the ARKEA ULTIM CHALLENGE – Brest, the solo ULTIM multihull race around the world, Anthony Marchand on the Actual Ultim 3 was in a high speed collision with a floating object, suffering damage.
The incident happened at 0723hrs this Tuesday morning, south of the Cape of Good Hope, when Actual Ultim 3 was very suddenly slowed down on its course by an impact to the port foil. The foil remains in place, but is badly damaged. The solo skipper himself is well and the boat is safe. Anthony Marchand and the Actual team have decided to continue the course and are not planning a technical stopover.
