Nacra 17 and 49er Seeking Hosts for 2022 and 2024 Worlds
World Sailing announced they will move the World Sailing Championship to 2023 as it was previously scheduled for 2022. As such, the 49er, 49erFX, and Nacra 17 are seeking hosts for each of our 2022 World and 2024 World Championship. This updates our previous requests for bids for the 2023 World Championship.
“For 2022 we are seeking a venue that is suitable between mid august to mid September or from October through December. For 2024 we are seeking a host with a location suitable in either February or May. Additionally we are seeking a host for our 2024 European Championship for September through December 2024.”
“The close of bidding is December 15, 2020. If your club, region, or nation wishes to host our racing at the critical moments on the path to Paris 2024, please request a copy of the bid documentation from the classes manager.”
The 49er and Nacra 17 Classes have joined forces for major events since 2018 representing doublehanded sailing, including our ongoing 2020 Forward WIP European Championship.
