Pemex fights a fire near an oil platform offshore the Gulf of Mexico

The fire broke out near Pemex’s Ku Maloob Zaap offshore platform complex after a valve in an underwater pipeline ruptured, causing an oil leak off the Gulf Coast.
Three ships were trying to put out a fire emerging from the sea, very close to an offshore platform.

The fire has been controlled and no injuries were reported.
Ku Maloob Zaap is one of Pemex’s most productive oil fields, with more than 700,000 barrels of oil per day, approximately 40% of its total production.
