Sanlorenzo presents the 144-foot X-Space superyacht with interiors by Piero Lissoni
Sanlorenzo, one of the world’s leading yacht manufacturers, has presented images of its latest superyacht.
Nicknamed Space X, the 144-foot (44-meter) ship offers a large amount of space spread over five decks. With an elegant exterior designed by the Zuccon International Project, the superyacht concept focused on the idea of transparency, rendering it with glass whenever possible. the interiors were imagined by Italian designer Pietro Lissoni continuing the clear theme. the result is a blurry border between inside and outside.
“The X-SPACE has been forced to become an almost entirely glass ship: there are large glass panels, large windows and some of the cabins no longer have portholes, but glass walls,” said Piero Lissoni. “The interior has forced its hand on the exterior and the exterior has been so stretchy and so well designed that the interior has almost fitted in in a totally natural way. I think this is the most innovative language I have seen on a superyacht to date and it has made it possible to create a compact boat but with extraordinary proportions and the unique quality of the sanlorenzo ”.
Transparency was the main design guide, but privacy was not far behind. the bridge deck has been stripped of the wheelhouse and captain’s cabin which have been moved to the bridge deck, and now houses a luxurious apartment for the owner. Complete with a master bedroom, living room, and study, the cabin is framed by glass and has a private deck at the bow with a pool.
“I think it has never been more important than in this project to seek to identify with the owner, who will be the great commander of this ship, hence the desire to create a complete deck dedicated to his needs,” said bernardo zuccon. “This is a solution normally found on larger boats and shows that this is a yacht where the owner will have the great luxury of being able to spend a lot of time on board. I have always thought that architecture is the main tool to allow man to live better, and in this case, the X-Space project was born with the desire not to create a wonderful floating structure, but to create a wonderful container for life ” . The first unit of the sanlorenzo X-space superyacht will be delivered in 2023.
