Garmin MSC 10 Satellite Compass with Integrated GPS
Garmin, the world leader in satellite navigation, introduced the MSC 10 marine satellite compass with multi-band GNSS and a fully integrated heading system, for improved GPS accuracy.
It uses GPS L1 and L5 frequencies, and with support for multiple constellations (GPS, Galileo1, GLONASS, and BeiDou1), the MSC 10 provides accurate position and heading data with a deviation of less than 2 degrees.
By the 10 Hz position refresh rate, it offers better and more detailed tracking information. By also using satellite signals, the has been designed to eliminate magnetic interference that can alter the accuracy of heading information.
It is easy to install and can be used as the primary heading and position sensor in various systems, including the most advanced autopilots. In addition to the bow, the MSC 10 will also provide reliable and accurate pitch, roll and roll information, even in rough sea conditions, directly to a compatible Garmin chartplotter via the NMEA 2000® network.
In case the satellite signal is weaker, the position accuracy will be supported not only by the built-in GPS sensor, but also by the backup magnetometer.
The new MSC 10 is compatible with a wide range of Garmin chartplotters, including the GPSMAP® 8400 series, the GPSMAP 723/923/1223 series, and the GPSMAP 1022/1222 keyboard series.
