March 22 is World Water Day
World Water Day celebrates water and raises awareness of the global water crisis, and a central focus of the observance is to support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goal, water and sanitation for all by 2030.
The theme of World Water Day 2021 is the valuation of water. The value of water is much more than its price: water has enormous and complex value for our homes, food, culture, health, education, economy and the integrity of our natural environment. If we overlook any of these values, we run the risk of mismanaging this finite and irreplaceable resource.
Without a comprehensive understanding of the true multidimensional value of water, we will not be able to safeguard this critical resource for the benefit of all.
On the same day, the United Nations World Water Development Report is also released, focusing on the same campaign theme and recommending policy direction to decision makers.
