It took the 32 competitors several hours of patience on land before they could race off the beach at La Grande Motte. Under overcast skies with occasional sunshine and a freshening southwesterly wind, four races were held. Bergamasco, Gruet, and Chaboud still occupy the provisional podium, but nothing is certain as to the order of this trio. Tomorrow, Sunday, it will be necessary to decide between these three contenders for victory. Everyone will need to keep their eyes peeled from the early hours of the morning, as the fleet could set sail early to avoid a strengthening wind at midday.

Super consistent at the front , the Italian Federico Bergamasco and Hippolyte Gruet gained a slight advantage over yesterday’s leader Mattéo Chaboud. The two men shared the day’s victories. This evening, it is the Italian world champion in the lead in the provisional standings, with a four-point lead over Hippolyte and six over Mattéo. This gap is not yet enough to guarantee him the overall victory, but it allows him to approach the final day of racing, tomorrow Sunday, with confidence.

Behind them, the handful of riders in the chase group seem to have found their rhythm. For Alexandre Grognuz, Noé Dumaine (who had a great day this Saturday), Baptiste Courtias, Martinius Hopstock, Alexis Pariat, Nick Schuller, and Simon Kaiser, it will be a race within the race to place themselves in the top 10 as best they can.
