Yannick Bestaven explodes with joy at 2:42 p.m. of Saturday. You have crossed Cape Horn!
Yannick Bestaven (Maître CoQ) crossed the length of Cape Horn on Saturday at 2:42 p.m. (French time) after 55 days and 22 minutes of racing since the start of Sables-d’Olonne on November 8.
The Rochelais skipper is the first of 27 skippers still in the race to cross this legendary milestone, 167 miles ahead of his runner-up, Charlie Dalin (Apivia). You now have 7,078 miles to go and two Atlantic miles, the south and then the north, to ascend back to where you started.
