Check the position of the IMOCA and VO65 fleets on the RACE TRACKER
The resolution of the tracker provides for updates every 5 minutes. Occasionally, when a boat is pinged, a position report is missed and the update is only every 10 minutes. The tracker draws a straight line between the last two position points it has. Normally, this isn’t noticeable. But when the boats are in close proximity to exclusion zones, it can appear as if a boat has sailed into an exclusion zone when it hasn’t. Race Control has higher resolution tracking and is monitoring each boat. If the Race Committee feels a boat has infringed an exclusion zone the information would be forwarded to the Jury who would assess and apply a penalty if necessary.

1130 local time — While we are waiting, why not check out how we got here, with Niall’s Saturday edition of The Ocean Race Show.
1120 local time — Nervous times for the race leaders now and the wind eases slightly, slowing speeds and essentially extending the leg. Good news if you are one of the trailing boats… the longer the leg lasts, the more opportunities you have for something to happen that allows a lead change…. 9 miles to go, but speeds down around 6 knots………
1050 local time — It looks like about an hour to the finish for 11th Hour Racing Team now, 13 miles to go, doing about 12 knots. They’ve managed to hold their one mile margin over Team Holcim-PRB and at this point will only be concerned about the wind easing ahead and allowing the boats trailing to come back.
WindWhisper is now making gains on the trailing IMOCAs – GUYOT environnement – Team Europe and Biotherm. Could they finish ahead of an IMOCA or two?
1005 local time — 11th Hour Racing Team has emerged from the most dangerous part of this finish with a tenuous, but hard-earned, one mile lead over Team Holcim-PRB and Team Maliza. It’s not over yet, but with just over 20 miles left to the finishing line, the opportunities to pass are few and far between. This is more of a speed run now.
Meanwhile, WindWhisper is fending off Team JAJO and Mirpuri/Trifork Racing, as both are less than 3 miles back.
0950 local time — The top three boats in the IMOCA fleet – 11th Hour Racing Team, Holcim-PRB and Team Malizia – are literally racing neck and neck, exchanging the lead on the tracker with each tack. Let’s remember what is at stake here… Take a look at the race leaderboard… Every point will be critical heading into the Grand Finale leg 7 into Genova.
The racing is just as close in the VO65 fleet, where WindWhisper Racing Team holds the lead, but the top four boats are spread across only six miles.
It’s going to be an amazing finish.
0910 local time — This is the tricky part for the leading boats in the IMOCA fleet. They have a short upwind section to negotiate. This is very tired sailors making manoeuvres and tactical calls with the opposition just a few 100 metres away. ETA for the leading IMOCA is still in the 1130 range, but the wind near the finish area is forecast to ease, which could put the ETA back a little bit.
0700 local time — It’s been a fast night for both fleets and the ETA has moved forward to 1130am in The Hague. Check above for How to Follow information.
