100 DAYS TO GO BEFORE THE 2022 CLASS40 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

CLASS40

ALREADY 10 PARTICIPANTS 100 DAYS BEFORE THE EVENT AND ALREADY AN INTERESTING LINE-UP!

If more than twenty crews are expected to take part in this Class40 World Championship. Be aware that there are already well-known skippers of the Class40 that will participate in the sporting event, including many new boats with: Antoine Carpentier (winner of the 2021 Transat Jacques Vabre in Class40) on Redman (n°161), Ian Lipinski (winner of the 2019 Transat Jacques Vabre and winner of the 2020 Drheam Cup) on Crédit Mutuel (n°158) Nicolas d’Estais on Happyvore (n°167), Hervé Thomas on Blanc Bleu (n°149), Clara Fortin on Randstad – Ausy (n°155), Matthieu Perraut on Inter Invest (n°175), Amélie Grassi on La Boulangère Bio (n°170), Kéni Piperol on Captain Alternance (n°174), Franz Bouvet on Yoda (n°65), Marc Lepesqueux on Extrem (n°140)… A line-up that promises to be – already – of high level and that will allow to see the potential – as crewed – of some boats recently launched before the big single-handed event of the Route du Rhum – Destination Guadeloupe. It is always rewarding to add the title of 2022 Class40 World Champion to one’s list of successes!

A 24-HOUR RACE AND COASTAL SAILING REGATTAS…
Not occured since 2012, Grand Pavois Organisation and the Class40 are relaunching this World Championship which will bring together twenty or more crews to compete in the Charente Pertuis and the symbolic sites of the Charente-Maritime department, partner of the event, such as Fort Boyard, the islands of Aix, Ré and Oléron.
This world championship will last 6 days and GPO wants to gather 3 different countries, from at least 2 continents.
There will be a race venue on the Eric Tabarly Esplanade next to the Bassin des Chalutiers in La Rochelle, where the general public, the media, the teams and the partners of the Class40s competing in the World Championship will be able to meet and have a good time.
