Hella marine announced that Apelo Underwater Lighting has been nominated for the DAME Design Award 2021.
The DAME Design Award is a highly contested marine equipment award, which for 30 years has focused on the art and science of equipment design in all aspects from style, functionality and innovation to integration, practicality of use and presentation. DAME is judged by a panel of leading ship, interior and industrial designers, as well as user experts. A nomination is the recognition that a product is the highest design standard for marine equipment. “We are delighted that Apelo has been nominated for a DAME design award,” said Jeremy Singleton, Hella Marine.
“We set out to innovate, apply our technology, and redefine the category to provide something truly special for the crossbars in these new entertainment-class products. OEMs and dealers are certainly catching on. ”
Apelo offers design innovation, precision manufacturing, and advanced materials to redefine the crowded underwater lighting segment with incredible performance, long-lasting durability, and a compelling value proposition that captured the attention of the judge.
Apelo glows more lux in wide horizontal and narrow vertical lighting where it counts. For lumens, Apelo has a higher brightness with less energy. Thermal polymer is used, an inert shell material 100% resistant to corrosion and suitable for any hull material. The optical nylon lens is incredibly strong and won’t brittle or fade in strong UV rays.
Hella marine wishes our fellow DAME award nominees all the best for a successful METS show in November.
